Musical Pretext for Gestural Adventure
Adroitly weaving whimsy & menace, Pia-Mélissa Laroche’s Musical Pretext for Gestural Adventure plays with the ceaseless dialectic of creation & destruction via her inimitable anthropomorphics & subtle design flourishes that manage to both comfort & perturb.
Pia-Mélissa Laroche is a cartoonist, graphic designer, and illustrator living in Paris. Drawing from an aesthetic informed by 70’s-80’s graphic design & illustration, as well as the charming limitations of B-movie special effects, Laroche has numerous self-published releases and has worked with publishers such as Cacahuétes Editions, Cold Cube Press, and Éditions Matière, amongst others.
