Them

Them, the newest from Jooyoung Kim, shows her applying her distinct naive comics style to an everyday domestic problem & teasing it out into a commentary on technology's complicated role in our lives. In doing so, she showcases her ability to distill complex phenomena such as urban malaise & social isolation from something as prosaic as a compact story about dealing with some pantry moths. Another stellar contribution from the deep well of talent that is the German small-press scene.

Jooyoung Kim is a cartoonist, illustrator, and designer based in Leipzig, Germany. She's a member of the FanArt collective, has had her work exhibited in Germany & Korea, & worked with publishers such as Kus!, Corners Printing, Foot Books, Colorama, and the bookshop Your Mind.
